The PA Wilds Hardcore ADV Tour
October 7-10, 2021 ~ ONLY 15 SLOTS ARE AVAILABLE and they are First-Come-First-Serve!
The PA Wilds Hardcore ADV Tour is a moderate to expert-level guided tour of the best ADV Dual Sporting routes in western and central Pennsylvania including terrain in Sproul, Susquehannock, and Moshannon State Forests. The PAWHAT is intended to be a hybrid ride, mashing aspects of a Rally and a Guided Tour. We offer the ability to meet us in Parker, Pennsylvania on Thursday morning for an excellent ADV Dual Sporting route that will take us to our base camp in Sproul State Forest (more info below on accommodations). We will run two different loops from base camp on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday we will offer another ADV Dual Sporting ride back towards Parker for anyone interested.
A majority of the riding will be gravel and dirt Forest Service and Fire Roads with beautiful vantage points and minimal pavement. The ride will also include maintained and unmaintained Jeep Trails, a few bushwhacking trails peppered in, as well as normally gated forest access roads. Not only does the amazing autumn foliage add to the experience but the USFS also opens many of the gated roads to allow access deeper into the woods this time of year. Many of these gated roads are minimally maintained, offer excellent riding along with views of rarely seen terrain, and include pass-through as well as dead-end tracks. We will ride different loops on Friday and Saturday and include all aspects mentioned above. The Thursday and Sunday rides will include everything mentioned above except any dead-end access roads. By-passes are not set up on the routes and participants will be required to take the moderate to expert rated sections to complete the course.
Accommodations for this year's event will be at The Black Forest Inn, our favorite Inn and Restaurant in the northern PA Wilds. Rooms at the Inn will be double occupancy (bring a buddy!) and the Restaurant offers great sustenance and spirits every evening. The price of admission will cover lodging as well as fully planned routing and guiding services. Lunch breaks and gas stops are built into each day. Participants are responsible for their own gas, meals, hydration, and any incidentals on the courses.
If intending to trailer to The Black Forest Inn: get there early, unload your bike, then meet us on the route. You can unload the rest when we get back! Want to trailer and ride with us from Parker? We can accommodate that too...
Email Kane@AppalachianADV.com for any questions! More information will be provided to PAWHAT participants closer to the event as well.
